What Your Membership Includes
We offer classes with a range of instructors covering Boxing, Muay Thai, K1, Taekwondo and fitness, across our Dragons Academy (ages 4½ to 8), Juniors Academy (9 to 13), Juniors Advanced (9 to 13) and Adults (14+).
Dragons, Juniors and Adults can progress through a structured belt system of 8 belts. All instructors are DBS checked and have gained qualifications in safe martial arts practice, sports development for children and first aid. Focus Martial Arts & Fitness also has a child protection policy in place for the safety of all students.
Equipment Policy
For the safety of all students, equipment must be checked or purchased through an instructor.
Holiday Policy
Memberships run over a 12-month period, with two weeks off in the Summer and two weeks at Christmas.
Student Code of Conduct
The rules of the academy exist so every member has a safe training environment and a good atmosphere to train in. Martial arts discipline is not only beneficial in the practice of the art, but also in daily life.
- Show respect to instructors, higher-ranking students and fellow members at all times, in and out of class.
- No talking, disruption or interrupting while an instructor is teaching, and show respect when entering and leaving the class.
- Full uniform must be worn in all classes unless otherwise stated by an instructor, and equipment brought to every class.
- No swearing by any Focus community members while representing the club, including instructors and parents.
- No form of bullying, emotional or physical, is tolerated at any time. Failure to comply will result in a two-week ban.
- Nails should be cut short for class to avoid scratching, and every effort made to arrive on time.
- At events, support your teammates when they compete, and parents must supervise their children at all times.
- Licence and training fees must be paid on time. Unlicensed members cannot train, grade or compete, in line with national governing body guidelines.
- If you'll be absent for more than two consecutive weeks, please let an instructor know.
